Have friends who have flown with them to England. Apparently they are good, just dry, i.e. no alcohol.
Increased intake of fruit, beer and chilli will increase your frequency. This is not to be confused with Bali Belly, which you will know all about if you get it i.e. days in bed.
Ellagic acid found in raspberries stops the bug from multiplying in the gut. Therefore if you take it at least daily it stops any bug from taking hold. Red cordial used to contain raspberry juice but pear juice seems to be the main ingredient these days. We used Balfour Jam last 2 times (55% raspberries) with success. I suggest you keep taking it for at least 2 days after leaving Bali, as this is when I ran into trouble last time. Got some more jam and it cleared up. I'm not a staunch naturopathy fan but it has it's place. Prevention is better than cure
Used to brush my teeth in tap water and never got sick. But then thought about Hepatitis and how vulnerable a bleeding gum is. Even though I am Hep B immunised there are so many strains of Hep we cannot keep up with them. So now I use bottled water.
Include gastrolyte in your first aid and ?Maxalon (limited effectiveness and if you're really sick you probably won't be able to keep it down). DON'T take lomotil for TRUE Bali Belly. You will stop your body from getting rid of the bug naturally and it may even perforate your bowel!!
Know what you mean re Jayakarta. We're booked in there but I'm not convinced. Hubby stayed there 18 mnths ago and said pool area was nice but is happy to try elsewhere.
