I too am shopping around for insurance - I've never had to claim but would never travel without it! Here are the quotes I got online for 17 days for 2 adults:
www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au ....... $117 if you buy out the excess
www.onlinetravelinsurance.com.au ...... $148 no excess
www.1cover.com.au .......... $182.90 if you buy out the excess
I know a cheap premium doesn't necessarily indicate a good deal, it's are they good at paying out when needed. Surprisingly enough travelinsurancedirect (the cheapest) had the best coverage when I compared the fine print .... that is as much as one can at 1.30am!!!
