Just back from a shopping trip with 3 other girls. it was the first trip for one of them and she thoroughly enjoyed it.
We stayed at the Padma in 2 interconnecting ground floor superior rooms. I was very happy with the rooms but they were quite a long walk from the pool. This wasn't a problem for us as we would just go down for quick dips but it would be a long way to go back to the room if you forgot something. The pool water was really really warm the first few days and then cooled a little bit after some heavy morning rain. The Padma gives you the hugest beach towels I have ever had.
Breakfast was included and is very nice and the setting is beautiful. The fruit and yoghurt is soooo nice, we were all having it first. they have everything you could ask for and is a perfect way to start the day.
We did Bodyworks mandi lulur and had our hair washed and done afterwards. The hairdressing part was hilarious. we could all smell my hair burning cos the hairdryer was too close and they were styling before the hair was dry enough. We all had a huge laugh about it.
We took a bottle of wine each and would share it in the afternoon. We ate at La Lucciola (absolutely beautiful salmon meal). otherwise we just ate in sahadewa street - Billys, IndoNational, Legends.
Gneva was a real hit. None of the girls had been before and they absolutely loved it. I had my neice's picture done on a herat pendant at Face to face - very happy with the result.
The duty free at DPS airport is so cheap. I bought 2 Jim Beam 1 litre bottles for $26 plus a carton of B&H for a friend for $17. Unbelievable. I normally spend that on just the cigarettes in Sydney.
Found the toko bead shop and the girls with daughters had a great time buying bags of everything.
Willy at Legian and Sue in poppies 2 got most of out trade as did fast Eddy across from the Bounty. He changed a watch I bought in Dec that the strap had broken, no trouble.
rate was 7175 when we arrived and 7290 when we left.
Really enjoyed sunset happy hr drinks at the padma between 5 and 7pm with live music.
