This is just a quick note to say beware of the elephant park scams. We bought two tickets to Bali Adventure Tours park from the tour office outside Melasti Beach Resort. We were picked up as per normal but then taken to Bali Elephant Park - not only much more basic than with Adventure Tours but also cheaper!! We paid more than the list price and had to argue for a refund when we got there (The staff at the park however were excellent!) Bali Elephant Park was good, however not what we booked for thus our annoyance. It was admitted by the staff member that sold us the tickets that he took our money for the one we wanted but then booked us on the cheaper tour. (It would also be wise to ask the driver where he is taking you when he picks you up.)
