I (and many others) were stupid enough to raise thousands of dollars for that particular charity only to discover the money was spent on purchasing land (in their own name) and building losmans for their retirement and to rent out to tourists but, then again, that was the plan from day one only silly people like myself, and hundreds of others, thought they were donating money for the poor - and I'm not even blonde!!!!
I even heard a rumour that they had retired but that was the plan from the start (and that was from the horse's mouth). Sorry if I sound bitter but the whole experience did leave a very nasty taste in the mouth and it will take a long, long time to get rid of that taste!!!
