Yep i have made a claim through the insurance through travel world. Cant remember name but could get it if required.

2 years ago went to New Zealand and Fiji and my son got the chicken pox the day before leaving to come home.

Insurance covered, the accomodation, food, doctors bills, taxi fares to get to the doctors, fees imposed by airline to keep changing our tickets to come home. They even paid the departure tax in New Zealand as we were originally only booked to be transitting though Auckland. They covered for the full extra 10 days we where away. Bill was around $3000 and had our cheque returned in about 2 weeks.
They were excellent and even rang every day to see how my son was. S

Keep in mind food is not normally covered in a travel insurance policy, as it is assumed you would be eating if on hols. In our case because we should have been home we where covered.

Have another claim about to do with sta travel insurance. In the USA at christmas all our luggage was lost for 3 - 4 days. Had nothing except the clothes on our back lol So insurance co. advised after 12 hours we were covered to purchase clothing and other essentials up to the value of $600. Havent put the claim in yet but will advise.
Sta Travel Insurance on Lonely Planet site does not have a good reputation so my fingers are crossed.
