Airport is in the area known as Denpasar but is actually located just south of Tuban not the 'city'.
Takes about 3 hours or so to get to Amed depending on traffic etc.
You would probably arrive as it is getting dark or just after.
Roads are ok but coming into Amed can be a bit bumpy & washed away if it has been raining.
Supppose it depends if you have accomm arranged beforehand or if you need to drive around looking .
We arrived as it was getting dark & found a place..was ok.
If you don't feel like doing it after you have just arrived (& haven't pre-booked )then perhaps just spend the first night in Kuta/Tuban then head off the next day.
