I haven't done the Bali trip with Intrepid but have done 3 other trips with them and they were all fantastic. I like the way that they operate, they interact well with the communities that they travel in. Another thing that I liked is that it was like travelling independently but you had the company of a group of like minded people to share the experiences.
It may cost a little more to do it this way but, I would say do it.
