We have stayed in Sanur for a week the last couple of years. We stayed at the Besakih, it is in a terrific location, its right on a lovely beach,. One of my best memories from last year was watching the sun come up over the water as we sat eating breakfast at their restaurant right on the beach. There is now a sidewalk that runs along the entire length of Sanur beaches right past all the markets and hotels and restaurants. The Griya next door is also a good option.Although looking at my brochures the B esakih throws in free breakfast and free nights all year round where the Griya doesn't and for that reason we chose the Besakih. I understand both hotels could use a good refurishment of the rooms tho. Whilst Sanur is quieter that the Kuta area, we never have any trouble filling in our time with lots of shopping there and there are plenty of great restaurants, all in walking distance, I am still researching other hotels on Sanur Beach for my own trip in September. hope this helps.
