While I am no fan of Bashir and his beleifs or his ways of championing them, it is important that the fledging rule of law and democracy in Indonesia be allowed to take hold and flourish.

Ultimately this will defeat terrorism in the region and provide a safer Indonesia and in turn a safer Australia.

All reports confirm that the case the prosecution brought against Bashir was at best tenious and at worst flimsy, resulting in a verdict that was consistent with the charges. Certainly Mick Kealty's comments on the verdict suggest he was not surprised with the outcome.

May I suggest we direct some of that fury of the below comments towars our own government who continue not to press the United States government to provide Hambali and others to allow prosecuters to build the case they need to have Bashir put away for good.
