When you want to donate, ask if the charity is registered. If you do give money, they must give you a receipt. It is surprising how many people give money to people they have never met and know very little about.

One particular Foundation in Bali has been under attack for years about where its money has been spent. If this organisation was forced to submit to annual audits and show where the money has gone, it would put to rest forever, the doubt that has surrounded this organisations integrity.

There is a list of these registered charities on the Consumer and employment web site.
