Four of us went to Bali last year and upgraded as a treat and surprise for my husbands 60th and we felt it was a total rip off. Yes, you get extras but for what we paid it wasn't worth and paying excess on luggage would have been cheaper. On trip over the food was more for a rabbit (lettuce salad for entree and main meal yet again a salad with raw salmon, yuk)no choice given on meals. yes we did get to VOA first but then we had to wait outside in the heat for half an hour for another traveller who was at the back of the plane. On the way home no service at all, was given tea and drinks and then nothing. No advertised morning cupper and snack as lights came on 20 mins before landing. I sent in a complaint to Garuda, Brisbane office sent an apology and that was it. Personally I would put the extra money to another trip. Our next trip we are going with Singapore Airlines.
