I bought my DVD's from a couple of different shops on JL Legian. At any shop I went into you could request them to play them to check if they all worked. I did not check mine and out of about 30 DVD's I purchased only one did not work. These will play with no probs on Australian DVD players, but NOT on a playstation. Also if you check the archives a lot of people use a guy called "Helgie". You can access a list and pre-order the ones you want before you go. He apparently also delivers them to you.
