Finally, a lazy morning. Did the Noritake (sorry, for those of you that don't know, Noritake is Japanese bone china like royal Albert.) breakfast. We did some videoing of the place and paintings in Lanny's wonderful home where we noticed some wonderful photos. Lanny said that they were of their wedding and that they had been married only a month previously. The amazing thing was that Lanny is actually Chinese heritage and she was wearing red! When I asked why, she said that it was Chinese good luck. Well a little later we noticed this wonderful coming out of the kitchen. It was Lanny cooking for her friend. Lanny used to own a restaurant (not in Bali) and at first did the cooking and then just ran the place. Wow, these were an amazing couple. Drove into town for a bit of window shopping and saw yet another restaurant that was on my 'forum favourites' list. This was Café des artists. It was very hidden but a great place with a real mixture of food. I got a wonderful Honey Glazed Chicken Salad. I confused them a little with trying to change the type of salad. The prices were good and we vowed that we would definitely go back

Off to Verona. As I mentioned before, this place was about 100m of the main road, we were a little surprised at what we were to see. We were placed in the end room as we didn't really want to be separated and since Jenny nursed me when I was really sick, there was nothing that she hadn't seen and if I can do this all in front of a masseuse that doesn't even know me then... Well the room looked over a rice field. A lovely setting. First the massage, then Lulur scrub and yoghurt splash, WOW, that was cold. Off to the shower and then a rose petal bath. As we are enjoying our relax in the bath, I suddenly heard ducks. That meant one thing to me....A duck herder. Sure enough as we sank as deep as we could, this duck herder just meandered by our open air bathroom/massage room. He didn't look, but boy it was close! Back on the massage table for the pedicure and manicure and facial, all done at once mind you by two people. Then off for the hair cream bath. All in all, I figured that you get what you pay for and Verona is very cheap. I must say that I have been to quite a few places over the years and I would rather pay a little extra and know that no duck herder was going to wander past. They did the job but, well, I just like a little bit more, hmmm professionalism I suppose is what I'm looking for.

Had dinner at the famed Terazo's. Very up market/yuppie kind of restaurant and the prices to go with it. A bit over the top for me. Now this is coming from a girl that like Ku de ta, but that's different. So forget sweets we went somewhere else to find something. On the way home we found the infamous Indus (also on my list) To see Janet de neef having a wedding reception there. A small private function but in the middle of the restaurant. It took us ages to get anyone's attention. You know when you are getting tired and just want a quick pop in for a cuppa and a piece of cake? Finally, Jen had the Coconut and banana crepes and I had the infamous Lime tart with English breakfast pot of tea, as the party, a little tipsy started moving to the live band, we decided to leave, we didn't come for some entertainment and we couldn't hear ourselves talk and being tired, we just wanted a quite sit down.

Finally, the next day was the day to leave. We really didn't want to after all that we had been through, Jen was begging to stay, but we had booked to stay at the Pacung Indah just south of Bedugal as we had always promised ourselves that we would do a bit of touring the island. We had done the south and the east coast through to Kintamani and now it was time to do the middle, we were hoping to get to Singaraja and Lovina. But right now? We just wanted to stay in that little bit of paradise and see some more of Ubud at a little closer range.
