I cant really speak for any other hotel in Sanur because we only stayed at the Bali Hyatt, but this is a superb hotel - The hotel is right on the beach and the beach is kept pristine by the hotel- very clean and they have guards at either end of their section, so the hassle on the beach is minimised - they also have two pools in the grounds - the smaller one is really nice and has a swim-up bar. The grounds at the Bali Hyatt are absolutely magnificent - the staff are great - very welcoming - good restaurants - we dont have kids but there were quite a few there and they all seemed to be having fun!
The Hotel is at the south end of the town but loads of cabs pass the front and you can jump in a metered cab and travel up to the other end for 5000 rupiah, but there are plenty of retaurants and shops very close in any case. There is a superb spa at the hotel and they also have a free shuttle bus during the day to their sister hotel at Nusa Dua, which is massive but has fantastic pools and water slides between the pool levels and all the facilities there are available to you. You can get a good deal at the Bali Hyatt - so although it is a 5star hotel, it isnt massively expensive - in fact we paid for an upgrade and had free snacks and cocktails from 5pm to 7pm plus a free massage and airport transfers.
