Got back yesterday .... brilliant.
Staff exceptional, rooms first rate, food excellent, prices at bars / restaurant good (yes more that a a local place, but this is basically a 5 star resort) 22,000 for Bintang at the swim up bar and the worlds best chicken burgen (breast fillet no crumbs) 37,000 so allowing 7,100 (the exchange rate last week) it's cheap.
We had 10 days for 2 adults a 2 13 year old girls and the extras cane to less than $400 aussie. we had 2 dinners, about 5 lunches @ the pool and lots of drinks including a few cocktails.
Kuta is great ... but the Patra Bali is exceptional ... you will look forward to returning to it as a place of refuge !! But, Clive is right, take the 5 min walk dow the beach to the Bali Hai and the restaurants around there Pantai etc.
We had a look around the Bali Hai ... not a patch on the Patra Bali. Cab fare to Kuta about 15,000 on average.
