I would love to be able to just nip over to Bali for a weekend. Unfortunately it is 5 hours from Adelaide so it would have to be an LONG weekend. Couldn't you be "sick" on Monday and then you could at least go for two days? We are going in Sept for 2 weeks but one of my best mates and I have decided it's about time for a girlie shopping spree so we have arranged to go with a group of girls in May next year but we are going for a week to make it worth while. There are some specials on that time of year for about $799 return with airfares, accom and breakfasts. Not too bad. When you look at that package, $500 for an overnight is a bit expensive but you are right about saving the money on your statue. I am sure you will get it cheaper in Bali.
Go for it. Life is too short and you might not be in a position to go another time.
