I usually stay at the Bali Garden Hotel. We usually catch a taxi to Garlic Lane in Melasti Street. Then walk home. The dreaded weight in those black and white plastic bags increase all the way home. There is always places to stop for a drink and a bite to eat. I have also walked from the BGH up to Melasti Street and caught a taxi home with all the bags. Taxi's are more expensive coming home because of the one way streets but always under 10,000rp
