Stayed there for two weeks at Christmas. We stayed in a villa on the river front but had friends who stayed in the next level back and loved it. Absolutely fantastic! Beautiful modern Balinese architecture, fabulous beds and bathrooms also private pool in each villa's yard. It was almost brand new and the staff were all being trained by the manager, Kadeka, who was one of the best we have come across in countless Bali trips. Villas are owned by a Medical Surgeon and his GP wife and the family is related to the Neka family of the famous Neka Museum (free entry and tour for villa patrons). The staff were truly amazing and friendly at all times. The standard of their room services was outstanding and carefully monitored by management.
The villas are on Monkey Forrest Road but situated away from the noise down a long pathway. You can walk straight out to restaurants and shopping. It is one building away from Wayans Cafe where we had many great meals. Breakfast is included in the price and is served at your villa. The family villas and main reception on Monkey Forrest Road were not completed when we stayed there. There are five luxury individual villas - all gorgeous. We have vowed to stay there every time we go back now mainly for the location - no need to catch transport to get meals or to go shopping, but also because it is very peaceful on the river and the service is fantastic without being overbearing. We cannot recommend it highly enough and will return in a few weeks to verify this fot you! We were able to negotiate a good price after walking off the street and would always deal directly with Kajane in future. It is next to the Ubud Village Hotel.
