3 weeks ago and saw the snakes but they are over to one side of the markets and I didn't even see them until someone in our group pointed them out to me. It is completely up to you if you want to go over to them or not.
Sunset at Tanah Lot is well worth doing.
Word of Warning though if you are not really busting to go to the toilet, then don't pay to go. They said you pay because they clean them often, but I walked out after going and asked for my money back.
As I said I was really busting!!!
