Two taxis would be a bit squishy. They don't have Commodores like we have here. Think more along the lines of a small 4 cylinder car at home - Corolla or similar. 3 in the back seat would be squashy - 4 would be impossible, I'd think.
Depending how far you're going, it'll only cost you a couple of dollars more to get a 3rd taxi and you'll appreciate the space on a hot day. Sometimes the air-con isn't all it should be!
