many things to many people. We have different likes and dislikes. What one person may love, another may hate.
Some of us treat our hotel as just a place to sleep, when we've finished doing whatever has pleased us for that day. For others, the hotel is the centre of our holiday existence. I have never stayed at either Bali Hai or the Barong, but I know they are very different. You obviously feel that the Barong had something to do with your disappointment. Maybe you already know what did not suit you, but perhaps don't care to say.
Analyse the situation very carefully. If what did not please you was something[s] which would have upset almost anyone, well fair enough. If it was simply a "feeling" that something was not right for you, well it's your holiday and your feelings are valid.
How about the others in your group? Were they all somewhat disappointed, or was it just you?
There are places in Bali I would not stay at even if I won a free trip. Yet others go there and have the time of their lives. And I know that not everyone would want to do what suits me. My feeling is that Bali has something for just about everyone, but it's so important to find the "something" which is special for you.
Anyway, you've come to the right place this time. Tell us what you like and particularly what you did not like and I'm sure the suggestions will flow.
