My personal choice would be Kumala Pantai. I liked the rooms there, they were nice and large and had a balcony. The staff were fantastic. There is one pool but I found it never really got that crowded that you couldnt get a seat. The restaurant was really great, they did a nice buffet breakfast and the meals for lunch/dinner were very well priced and very tasty - love the laksa. Its in a great spot as well.
The Pelangi didnt have a balcony which was really annoying. Sometimes got annoying with the hawkers that would be right at the front of restaurant area where you would sunbake. The breakfast was similar to the KP. It was also difficult to get a taxi at the hotel, they didnt allow taxis close to the hotel. It was in a good spot though, lots of restaurants close by.
