we travelled to Bali with a family that had a child with a life threatening allergy,and what they did was they had a letter type up by their doctor here in Australia, in Indonesian explaining the allergy,we ate anywhere and everywhere and he was fine.
The staff at all the restaurants and hotels were really excellent and totally understood the problem.
