a guy drowned out the front of the Jayakarta while we were in Bali and we all saw them bring his body to shore 3 days later - a VERY sobering experience I can tell you. There are very ugly rips along the beach - never go out of your depth :( I must say I am inclined to do the pool thing now - much as I love the surf it just isn't worth it
