Last trip I bought a Buddah painting and one of Legong Dancers. These were both approx 90 cm x 60 and I had them bubblewrapped in Kuta as I didn't want them rolled. Costs too much to have them re streched and framed here.

I did buy one elesewhere that was just too big to wrap so it was rolled and cost me as much to have it strected onto a frame again as I payed for it. It was a Ramayana painting. Had to have it.

This trip at Sukawati I bought a couple of frangipani paintings for my bathrooms and a set of three really funky modern contemporary abstracts in really bright reds and oranges and a bit of black. They are about 90cm x 40 cm so long and skinny times three. They are a perfect complimentary set but were not together as a set when I found them. I had them lined up as I was trying to choose just one when I realised what a stunning set they were. All three cost 300,000rp so $41.00. I'm stoked.

An interrior decorator friend of mine is trying to buy them off me. I've told her no but am happy to take her to Sukawati any time she's ready. She's one of those types who thinks that Bali only has t-shirts and beer on offer. I'm slowly winning her over.

So try Sukawati. Be prepared to have to really ferret about. A painting stall might look ordinary but if you flick through the stacks you'll be amazed. I'd have bought more but I have to get them back safely so I just do a few each trip.

Bye for now - Lotsaluv
