At Ubud markets 3 days ago, I was bargaining with a woman who was very agressive and she would not allow me to hold the carving I was wanting. When she agreed to my price, I saw that it was broken and I told her so and started to walk away. She ran up to me and hit my quite hard across the back. Her language was very abusive (in english)and I felt that she had cursed me quite literally. As for other markets, yes it does feel like constant verbal attack sometimes.
