There are two boats departing daily from Sanur to nusa lembongan from Sanur. They are both traditional outriggers the perams has larger motors.
There is the public boat that leaves sanur at 10am and is slightly cheaper than than the perama (10,000rp). It can get very crowded with the locals on the roof and they may have lots of supplies, like chooks etc, but it is an experience. It is also a little slower than the perama, it leaves half an hour before and often the perama beats it. Also I don't think there are many lifejackets.
Then at 10.30 the perama leaves, around 45,000rp per person, bigger motors and more lifejackets. We always feel safe as we have quite a few boards with us and my hubby says that we could float around on them if anything happens.
Leaving Nusa lembongan the public boat leaves at 8am and the perama leaves at 10.30.
You can also hire a boat from the beach, we did one year as we missed the boat and it cost 500,000rp for the whole boat.
