It's just a short walk (10 mins) up to the Ubud markets with plenty of shops to look in along the way, so it's a pleasant comfortable walk.
Traffic noise isn't a problem but there is a bar next door to the Ubud Village - I think it's called the Putri Bar (we renamed it the Putrid Bar) which can get very noisey at times so ask to be well away from the noise of the bar. Besides it's pretty down the back with a view across the gully.
The Ubud Village is in a great location, we love it and always stay there as it's so handy to everything.
