It is quite surreal to get there because you drive through a deserted development site that has roads and footpaths but few houses. But is has guards at the entry point. Most drivers know where it is and you could combine it with a surfing trip to Uluwatu. Do not agree to the guy who meets you in the drop off spot (he is a tout for one of the beach cafes and tries to charge you too much for a lounge, which for us was broken but he wouldnt change it!)- ignore him and just walk down to the beach and keep walking (left) past the first section of lounges, into the second part of dreamland where there are better and cheaper lounges. Get your driver to wait (ie hire him for the day) coz when you are finished at the beach, the drivers waiting up the hill know that they can charge you heaps to get back to wherever you are staying - there is no other way unless you already have your driver.
Beautiful non polluted beach - worth the trip.
