Breakfast was served in the restaurant out the front of the hotel. You get a choice of juice or fresh fruit then eggs (any way) plus bacon and toast and jam plus tea or coffee. We noticed they had banana pancakes and pineapple pancakes on the menu and asked if we could have those instead of eggs and bacon and it was no problem. The breakfast was quite good.
There are queen beds in the rooms that aren't so good. I think the better rooms are between the pool and the reception. Check out the room when you get there and if you don't like it just ask to be mooved if they can. When we asked they didn't appear to mind.
There are quite a few restaurants around and plenty of shopping. Some restaurants we enjoyed were La Tropique (almost next door). The waiters name was Fugly (we almost rolled on the floor laughing when he told us),Kusnadi Hotel Restaurant (not far from the front entrance to the Baleka) had good food and you could sit in a little gazebo thing with the table on the ground with cushions around (something different), Poco Loco (mexican) was also good and not far to walk. There was a good choice of restaurants within walking distance.
I too was a bit concerned with reports about Baleka Beach but as I said I would stay there again and the staff were great. They also have internet access at the bar area. I hope you have a great time and look forward to your thoughts when you return.
