We have stayed at Medewi heaps of times, so I'll tell you what I can.

There is not much at Medewi except a few hotels and of course, a fantastic point for surfing. Locals are great if youve got kids that will mix. our boys had a ball hanging with 'da boyz'.
The other post was pretty accurate regarding prices for Medewi Beach Cottages. The rooms are very clean and exceptionally cool, grounds and pool are also very nice. You can book direct by phoning Yeti. visit their website to get the numbers. This hotel also has a cheaper alternative across the road for around $20 a night, but it is basic.
There is another place through the bushes which is even cheaper and popular with young surfers but again it is very basic. There is a reasonable restaurant on the corner of the main road where you turn doen towards the point called Mai Malu's. The lady that runs this is a good friend, and the food is cheap and reasonable. There are also a couple of other upmarket hotels within a few kilometers of Medewi.
If you are intending to surf there, it is hard to go past Medewi Beach Cottages.
We have always booked from Oz, but it never seems to be totaly booked out.
Let me know if you want more info or cant find phone numbers...Ive got them somewhere!
