most foumites aren't too happy with the timeshare situation in Bali because of the timeshare touts continually tricking & hounding tourists & trying to race you off to the hard sell presentation BUT if you are interested I would suggest that you look for people reselling rather than going direct through a company.
Naturally exercise your common sense & normal business precautions &
look into it fully but heaps are advertised online on different sites.
I just had a quick look at Ebay & they currently have some on sale
there.Keep in mind you also have to pay annual maintenance fees.Make sure you are able to compare apples with apples & look at more than one property.
A few things we don't like them is that you would feel obliged to use them all the time to get your money's worth & we like to go to different places. You can also get way better prices for airfares in Australia as part of a package - even if it is just buying the 3 > 4 day lead in package & then do your own thing. This is what we always do these days.
At this stage they are not right for us but 2 good friends in Adelaide own time share but they only use it down at Goolwa & previously interstate like Mildura because the airfares are a bit much for them to handle because there financial situation has changed. They are also not much into OS travelling.Aminkila who is on BTF has owned timeshare in Bali for about 4 years & has just returned. She is happy with where she is.
There is also a small property in Jalan Bunkungsari that we have stayed at many times that I suppose it time share in a way. Many Aussies own /lease rooms.Quite a few of these "owners" used to be on this forum a long time ago.We are friends with a couple who own rooms there. We know a far bit about how the rooms work there & can talk to you off the forum if you want.
All I'll add is it's a very individual thing. We are not keen on them & a lot of others aren't as well BUT it might be right for you.If you do decide to go into this go in with both eyes open as you would re any business deal.
