Aminkila loved your attitude and am also so sorry to hear that your trip was cut short and of the painful injuries you had endure.
Maybe when you write to Qantas you might condsider referring them to this BTF and all these posts.
If they were to take a look they might be more inclined to improve their customer relations by compensating you in some form and perhaps even consider different guidelines for others who may be unfortunates in the future.
Also am right with you on the praise for the BIMC as we spent 3 mornings there last Oct for my son.(thats another story) but we also can't praise them highly enough.
Working in the medical industry I checked (when they weren't looking :) behind every autoclave etc.
The hygiene standards were impeccable as were the professional friendly staff.
Thanks for sharing your experience and by doing so drawing attention to the importance of travel insurance.
