Our friend from San Francisco stayed at the Oasis in Jl Bakungsari/Singosari in Sept 03. It is a much smaller boutique newer hotel in a good location, close to Kuta Square and a 5 minute walk down to the beach. The pool looked inviting. The rooms were modern but maybe a little on the small size, but adequate.
If they are your only 2 choices, I would much prefer Oasis.
You could also book minimum nights with your travel agent and book another hotel online or thru a Bali agent.
