I would tell them about ATM's and the ones at the airport. I would tell them about the heat (depending when they go), I would tell them how to get around...ie blue bird taxi and hiring a driver, I would tell them to save some time to explore the island so they see the 'other' Bali. I would tell them to go to Ubud, Pemuteran, drive thru rice paddies . I would say see a Legong dance in Ubud, shop at Geneva, avoid Kuta except for shopping (thats my personal opinion) stay in Semniyak, Legion or Sanur for a beach experience, hear some gamelon music, go to the Bali Bird park, eat at Jimbaran at night, take sunscreen, hat and to be open for the most fantastic experiences....and meeting sweet Balinese people.
