is the person on? Do they have a full drivers license in Bali?
My hubby on a full license bike & car in Bali here on Spouse visa, since Nov last year..
We went in to Vic roads & spoke to a lady there whom said as he has a full license he can drive on that but needs to get it translated into English which you can have one translation done for free but have to oraginse that with Immigration...
Then until he becomes a permanent resident he can show his translated license if he happens to get pulled over etc... (which he hasn't yet!) Once he becomes a permanent Australian Resident he has to do a driving test (not written) & will then get a Victorian license!
I hope this helps, if the person is here on tourist, I believe they can drive for up to 3 months, if they are here longer they must go to Vic roads.. But you may want to check that has not changed.
I am speaking from a Victorian point, so visit the similar places in your own state...
