We have stayed at Bali Hai every year since 1993 (twice in 2003) hence my name tag. The web site not only gives you room layouts but also has a map of the hotel layout complete with room numbers. Sections no'd 10 & 12 have the best outlook to the pool,beach and gardens for superior rooms.
Places to eat - within walking distance there are, Pantai 150 metres towards Kuta on the beach, Ma Joly almost next door on the beach (more expensive)and is great for that special lunch or dinner, just opposite Bali Hai (Literally) is Green Garden, while up the road JL Wana Segara) you will find S A Cafe and further up JL Wana Segara there is Lotus Tavern. All of these restaurants are excellent and are not not expensive except Ma Joly but their quality and the ambience makes up for the extra cost.
Also up JL Wana Segara you will find a couple of little shops, a laundry (V Cheap RP1000 per item) and an internet shop.
By the way At SA Cafe they will change Aussie dollars (And other currencies) at good rates. They are scrupulously honest.
