If you are staying in Kuta there is an Optometrist just after Matahari Department store. You need to walk past the department store and then past a restaurant called Dulang with a green shade across the front. Just after that is the Optemetrist. I took my glasses in there and they used their machines to take the perscription. We went back the next day to pick them up and they were really cheap. I also bought contact lenses there which were very inexpensive. They are slightly thinner than the ones I usually use so I have torn a couple of them but they work just fine and they were about 10th the price of the same thing in Australia. I figure, if I tear a couple they have still saved me a couple of hundred dollars.
They also had those off the shelf reading glasses. My husband bought several 1.5 strength pairs for work and they were $20 each pair. He loves them.
Hope you find what you need
