We were there for 11 nights in the Back pool area but in the corner away from the pool. No problem about noise from pool but noise from your neighbours which you could get in the front area anyway. You can hear the people above you running around in the rooms. Plus a few of the rooms decided it would be funny having BB guns wars shooting each other as well as people walking into the rooms. I guess we just picked a bad week. I usually stay at the bounty which is 400 meters away and probably wouldn't go back to the Barong due to the ageing of the rooms and the very budget travellors that go there just to party and not care about anyone else. Unfortunately those minority ruin it for those looking for a good cheap holiday to relax and have a few drinks can't be helped. Just watch for people spewing in the pool and plastic floaters (ie condoms). Definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel for the conservative.
