Cooler bag is the way to go. We have one that is as big as an esky, but folds down flat. I use it when I go to the supermarket for stubbies. You can get ice at a restaurant if you want to keep drinks really cold. You do not need to leave it there as it is light and does not take up much room in your case. You could even use it as carry-on (carry-back) luggage from Bali as they are not all that fussed about size.
