The main street of Lipah village [which is what most people are thinking of when they talk about Amed] has a good number of warungs, all of them very reasonably priced. One of them is called Wawa Wewe, can't remember the names of the others. Sometimes, if you're lucky, you may get a Balinese cultural show, a singer/guitarist or a small group.

A main meal and a couple of drinks may set you back about AU$10 for 2 people. Further courses are priced accordingly. Goodness knows if they have a sliding rate for locals/tourists, but at that price why worry?

Coral View Villas restaurant is very pleasant and reasonably priced and right next to the beach. If you eat there, you are welcome to swim in their beautiful pool.

Vienna Beach Hotel is a nice place to have a drink, overlooking the beach and it's worthwhile to check their menu.

A little out of town, Good Karma is worth a look. Very inexpensive restaurant and you may fancy staying there if you like "bamboo hut" type accomodation on a quiet beach.

The hotels in that area are not like the grandiose places in some parts of Bali and the prices are generally reasonable and can be bargained for.
