I've had the pleasure of a number of trips to beautiful Bali and have enjoyed every little bit, the good, the bad, the ugly and am heading back again in March with Hubby in tow. It will be his second trip but he really still counts as a "virgin" having only seen the bottom of a sewer on our last trip (his first time)!! It was day 2 of a 10 day stay when he managed to fall down a hole in one of those wonderful footpaths that you probably all know so well!!
He was right behind me, I side stepped to avoid the "pit" and he disappeared up to his shoulders. After much drama, a police escort to a dubious "medical centre" and numerous stitches to repair gaping holes in his legs he spent the next eight days watching me swim in the Kartika pool whilst he sat with makeshift dressings on his legs trying very hard not to get gangreane and ruin MY holiday. (Here's a tip - I was paranoid to say the least about attending to his dressings a couple of times a day and found it was difficult to come by adequate sizable sterile dressings. Necessity being the mother of invention I found that sanitary napkins worked out perfectly. Large enough, sterile and easy to come by.) Hubby was beyond caring about the sensitivities of fellow guests and proudly displayed his loving wifes resourcefulness. Could have been the pain medication!! Hoping that our next trip will see us venture much further afield so that we can this time truly share the Bali experience! (lol) Will let you know his reaction when we return.
