Was honest, interesting, entertaining and easy to relate to as it brought back many memories.
My first trip to Bali was in about 1977, and though it seems most people get used to hawkers, last year I found the hawkers in Kuta not intimidating but just as annoying as back then.
Don't worry too much about it as with experience comes confidence and I am sure they sense this. Won't be long before you won't let them intimidate you and then they won't even bother trying.
(btw - as I have a short attention span found the way you paragraphed and spaced your JBR made it a much easier read than many I have tried to read in the past).
