I can recommend a good driver in Candi Dasa. His name is Wayan Manek [Nick]. Ph 081 8353501. Nice guy, careful, helpful driver, aircon Kijang, reasonable price. No point getting a driver to come from Kuta, would have to cost you more.
I have stayed in 5 different places in Candi Dasa, ranging from 40,000 per night up to the upmarket Kubu Bali and bargained for all of them, just by walking in off the street. Don't have your luggage on show, looking like you've just got to find somewhere soon. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place, try Resor Prima, just a few minutes walk down a quiet paved lane through the coconut/banana groves, past Legends Cafe at the Amlapura end of the main street. Almost feels like being in a little Balinese village. Reasonable size room with comfortable QS bed and en-suite with H&C and western style toilet. Aircon, fridge, TV and own balcony. Pleasant garden with pool and right on a good white sand beach, unusual for Candi Dasa, with low key coral reef snorkelling off the beach. Asking price ror the room, 150,000, includes adequate breakfast.
Warung Pini 2 minutes walk, owned by a delightful lady, Wayan. Very reasonable prices. Little shop before you get to Warung Pini for water, Coke, Bintang etc. If closed, go around the back and they will open up for you. Driver Nick is based next door to Resor Prima at Puri Oka Cottages. When in town, try Warung Puspa, [near Kubu Bali] good food at good prices. Any more info on this area, I may be able to help.
