Would have said to just concentrate on yourselves and learn the ropes of overseas travelling before you attempted to help others.
If you learn anything from reading forums and listening to people....it is that bali is a culture shock and you can get ripped easily with money......a shame that that still happened to you.
Good on you for going again though, you will be better prepared next time.
Wise to stay in sanur and Ubud.
