Hi Mecca. The Puri Santrian is the more expensive, up-market version of the Griya Santrian. It's also much further down the beach, which means its a bit more out of the way.
I wouldn't recommend walking out to the reef to go snorkelling. It's a fairly long way, and you could only do it when the tide is out. Then you'd have to clamber over the reef, no doubt managing to get quite a few coral cuts on the way. Hire a boat. You can bargain a good rate, and you can get a different boat each time to spread the wealth around a little. Don't forget that you don't pay per person, you pay for the boat. Pick an amount you're happy with, and go for it.
