I swear by them - I order every meal (including breakfast) with a small dish of sliced chilli in ketchup asin. I love the taste, but also my theory is that the chillies either kill any bugs, or in the event of a particularly hardy bug, it is processed through at such a rate it doesn't get time to hang around and reproduce.
