Hard to say - there seems a general malaise about the place - it seemed understaffed, the staff were poorly organised - sometimes there were no towells at the second pool, (which is quite nice) the breakfast was very good but the carpet was threadbare in the restaurant - they gave us free vouchers for dinner but the atmosphere for dinner was dire. The beach nearby was absolutely dreadful, disgustingly filthy - I imagine that the Sofitel used to clean it but no more. You are slightly out of the way at the Seminyak - it seems a little isolated. The new rooms are nice, but lack personality.
We also stayed for 5 nights at the Bali Hyatt in Sanur for a similar cost - a far superior hotel - much nicer beach and far far better for ambience,, service, staff -a thousand times better and a much better bet from my point of view
If you need somewhere fab to stay in Ubud - try the Komaneka resort in the centre of town - really nice!
cheers graham
