We dd the elephant trek last june while on our Honeymoon. They should have no problem. There was an older woman on one of the elephants that went out with us. It's a pretty tame and slow journey, but scenic. Getting on and off is mad easy by ramps and steps. It's worth it just for the interaction with the elephants when you return from the trek. They'll love it.
